Hundreds of students from high schools across Seattle, stretching to Issaquah and Renton, walked out on the two-year anniversary of the Israel-Hamas war.

Around 200 students, including some college students from Bellevue to Bellingham, marched in protest of the war and in support of Gaza Tuesday, according to The Seattle Times.

Carrying signs, banners, and Palestinian flags, they marched west from Cal Anderson Park, then blocked traffic on Denny over I-5. Students chanted “Free, free Palestine!”

The protest was organized by the student group Seattle Revolutionary Youth, which posted the walkout on its Instagram.

Israel-Hamas peace talks resume

It has been two years since Hamas attacked Israel, leading to a catastrophic war.

Peace talks have resumed between Israel and Hamas, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Indirect negotiations entered their second day at a Red Sea resort, with President Donald Trump’s plan at the forefront.

A senior Hamas official told Egypt’s Qahera TV that Hamas wants a guarantee of a lasting ceasefire as part of any deal to return the remaining 48 hostages.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted Trump’s plan, The Associated Press noted, which asks for the immediate release of hostages. It also requests that Gaza be placed under international governance and that Hamas be disarmed, which has yet to be accepted.
