JBLM parents lock kids in car during sex shop visit

A husband and wife from Joint Base Lewis-McChord didn’t see anything wrong with leaving their two children in their van with the engine running while they shopped for over 90 minutes at a sex shop.
The clerk at the Tacoma sex store was so appalled that she called the police. When officers arrived on scene, they found the two boys inside the mini-van watching a movie. The officer peered inside the van and waved at the kids, ages 3 and 4, who waved back.
Inside the store, the young couple was in the midst of spending $430 on merchandise when they were approached by officers. The officer informed the parents, both 23-years-old, that leaving children in a running vehicle alone is against the law, and gave them both a citation.
The News Tribune reports that the couple explained that they parked the van right in front so they could see it. In his report, the officer wrote that he suggested maybe one parent could shop and the other stay with the kids.
The clerk says it’s not the first time the couple has left their children locked in their vehicle.
