Jul 1, 2019, 6:56 AM

One person was killed in a hit-and-run in Kent late Sunday.

Police responded to a fatal collision shortly after 10 p.m. in the 9700 block of Canyon Drive. Witnesses told police that they saw a red car and silver car collide head-on, and that they saw two people running from the silver car.

The witnesses helped two people out of the red car and said that the silver vehicle was on fire.

Puget Sound fire responded and provided aid. Once the fire was out, they found a deceased victim in the silver car.

An initial investigation indicated that the silver car was driving east in the westbound lanes when the crash occurred. Police searched the area but were unable to locate any suspects. Occupants of the red car were taken to the hospital.
