Kent Police shoot armed DUI suspect dead near Pacific Highway South

A suspect is dead after a shooting involving Kent police officers early Monday morning.
The suspect, believed to be driving under the influence, was stalled on the 25200 block of Pacific Hwy S. Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers reported the man wielding a gun. Officers were then advised that shots were fired, according to a spokesperson for Kent Police Department.
The regional 911 center for south King County, Valley Communications, reports that the suspect died just after 5 a.m.

Emergency crews worked to resuscitate the suspect, but he died on the scene from his injuries.
Highway 99 near Pacific Highway South was closed as of 5:45 a.m. while the Valley Independent Investigation Team investigate the shooting.
