King Co. judges donate their time to gay marriage

Seven King County Superior Court judges and one judicial officer will volunteer their time Sunday to marry same-sex couples.
According to The Stranger, the judges stepped in to help after Seattle City Hall announced they were fully booked for weddings that day.
“The court just realized that the community needs our services, and we are happy to provide them,” Judge Susan Craighead told The Stranger.
The judges will take turns presiding over marriage ceremonies beginning at midnight Sunday. The shift will continue until 8 p.m and the services are free of charge.
Couples who received marriage licenses Thursday and wish to take part need to make an appointment and must bring two witnesses.
The schedule is as follows:
