The suspect, Khalia Wimberly, her boyfriend, Davevion Irving, and an associate shoplifted from the store, according to police. Officers arrived on the scene as they were exiting the store, already being chased by the store’s security.
Wimberly and Irving got into a black 1996 Lexus LS four-door, with the former behind the wheel driving. Police say Wimberly struck the deputy head-on, causing serious, non-life threatening injuries, including a broken leg.
The unnamed associate was arrested on the scene, but Wimberly and Irving remain at large. There is now a temporary warrant out for Wimberly’s arrest. There’s no new warrant out for Irving, but he does already have an active felony warrant and a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.
Wimberly and Irving are dating and said to be couch surfing somewhere in the Tacoma area. The King County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who knows where either person is to call 911, or the KCSO directly at (206) 296-3311.
