You might have to keep a keen eye open soon if you are driving in Bellevue as a tech giant is bringing autonomous vehicles to the area for testing and chose the region for its rainy conditions.

The Puget Sound Business Journal reports Alphabet Inc.’s self-driving project, Waymo, will be testing electric Jaguar I-Pace vehicles over the next few months.

The company said it chose the region because the driving environment was similar in certain respects to other western U.S. cities.

So if you see a Jaguar with a driver not touching the steering wheel, you’ll know what that’s about.

King County Prosecutor candidates to debate today

This evening, there will be a debate between the two candidates running for King County Prosecuting Attorney.

Leesa Manion and Jim Ferrell will face off at the Seattle University School of Law from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

Inflation remaining stagnant

New numbers, released from the federal government today, showed inflation remained “unchanged” in the Seattle area over the past month.

Technically the Consumer Price Index didn’t change from July to August in the greater Seattle area, but the Bureau of Labor Statistics stated that’s because there was a slight decrease in gas prices that offset increases in things like shelter and food.

The big shock comes from how much prices have increased over the past year, as there’s been about a 9% jump in the Consumer Price Index overall.

Stocker Farms corn maze embraces Seattle Kraken

If you like the sound of whispering wind and rustling leaves as you lose yourself in the corn rows, love the Seattle Kraken — or both — this activity might be for you.

KIRO 7 TV reported that the Stocker Farms corn maze design will feature a Seattle Kraken theme this year.

It will include a hockey helmet, a puck with an anchor on it, the team’s logo and name, and the words “BORN OF THE SEA.”

The corn maze and farm will be open on the weekend of Sept. 17 and 18 and the following weekend, Sept. 24 and 25, before opening daily starting Oct. 1.

Proceeds from the corn maze at the Snohomish farm will benefit Ronald McDonald House charities.
