After rescuing two people from the waters off Edmonds, South County Fire has issued a reminder for boaters to wear their lifejackets.

On Saturday morning, two people fell off a sailboat near Edmonds, prompting a multi-agency response.

“A Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office vessel pulled the man and woman from the water around 11:30 a.m. and brought them to Edmonds Marina, where South County firefighters rushed both to Swedish Edmonds hospital,” the agency said in a post on X.

“One patient was in serious condition while the other had non-life-threatening injuries.”

Both individuals were wearing their lifejackets. If not for the safety precautions they took, this story could have ended more tragically.

“Always wear yours on the water. Every. Time.”
