Jun 18, 2014, 3:07 PM | Updated: 3:17 pm

Tacoma police have released the 911 recording of a 16-year-old reporting he murdered his father.

16-year-old Rylan Salzman called Tacoma Police last Tuesday to confess to murder of his father, 49-year-old Richard Salzman.

The operator kept him on the line for more than ten minutes, while officers sped to the home on South Madison Street in Tacoma, and asked about all the gory details.

Rylan says he murdered his father four days before he made the call to police, because he wanted a little more time with his family.

He says he killed his father after the man had a drunken argument with his mother on the phone and then the pair fought.

Ryland Salzman is charged with the murder as an adult. He’s being held on $1 million bail.
