Snow tapering off around Puget Sound

Though snow continued to fall in pockets around Puget Sound Saturday morning, the National Weather Service reports the snow will turn to rain showers as the day progresses.
Snow began falling along the Washington coast and the Puget Sound lowlands Friday afternoon.
State patrol responds to hundreds of crashes after winter storm
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the East Puget Sound lowlands from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. KIRO 7 meteorologist Morgan Palmer says the East Puget Sound does not include Bellevue, Issaquah, or Sammamish, but rather areas such as North Bend, Enumclaw, Buckley, and Gold Bar.
In the mountains, 1 to 2 feet of snow is possible from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. The snow level will be around 1,000 feet, so expect wintry conditions. The Weather Service recommends packing along an emergency kit.
