Lynnwood stabbing suspect caught after bicycle getaway

Aug 8, 2013, 5:15 AM | Updated: 9:38 am

A man suspected in a stabbing death in Lynnwood made an unusual getaway attempt early Thursday morning.

It happened at about midnight at a house in the Cedar Valley neighborhood on 204th Street SW. Witnesses say one visitor stabbed another guest, a 33-year-old Lynnwood man, and took off. Police were called.

“They arrived on scene pretty quickly and witnesses were able to tell them that the suspect fled on a bicycle and so we cordoned off the area pretty quickly and were able to find him,” said police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions.

Police arrested a 35-year-old Snohomish County man about 12 blocks away.

Investigators say the two men knew each other but didn’t live at the house and they can’t say what sparked the deadly attack.
