A Lynnwood woman will likely face domestic violence assault charges for allegedly burning her son’s hands as punishment for taking a friend’s iPod.
The 6-year-old boy told investigators his mother put his hands on a hot stove and then put salt in his burns to make it feel, as he put it, “more owie.”
The Herald reports doctors believe this wasn’t the first time the boy was burned. His hands showed multiple burn patterns.
The 27-year-old woman denied burning the boy, speculating that the burns must have come while he was playing or toasting marshmallows. She is also accused of beating her son with a spoon and a shoe.
The boy and his 3-year-old brother have been removed from the home.
