Man abandons luggage, causes Sea-Tac security scare over bag fees

It wasn’t your usual security situation early Tuesday morning at Sea-Tac Airport, after a man taking a Delta flight got upset with baggage fees, abandoned his four bags and left on a flight for New York.
Airport security officers found the bags just after 1 a.m. and after looking over them, determined one of the bags was suspicious.
“Our bomb disposal unit responded and deployed a robot to inspect the luggage,” said airport spokeswoman Christina Faine.
After landing at J-F-K in New York, the man told security he didn’t want to pay the 14-hundred dollars in baggage fees to fly his luggage across the country, NBC reported.
One-way baggage fees on Delta Air Lines for flights within the U.S. are currently $25 for the first bag, $35 for the second and $125 for a third bag. Travelers with overweight bags weighing 51 to 70 pounds are charged an additional $100; bags weighing 71 to 100 pounds cost $200.
