A 26-year-old man was seen June 28, driving 80 mph in a 30 mph zone in south Seattle, say police.

A Seattle police officer spotted the man driving on sidewalks and through some hedges near 7300 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S before turning onto South Othello Street and driving in front of the officer’s car.

The officer temporarily lost sight of the man’s blue Mazda MP5 due to the high speed, but when the officer turned onto S. Holly St. he saw the man collide into a parked, unoccupied vehicle.

“He did not appear to have any obvious injuries, but due to his erratic behavior he was transported to Harborview Medical Center,” said Detective Renee Witt.
