Police arrested a suspect in the murder of a man whose body was found at a home in Kirkland early Friday morning.

Officers were called to the home in the 12900 block of 131st Ave NE in the Kingsgate neighborhood shortly after 2 a.m. Friday for a report of a disturbance.

Police found the body of the man as well as a woman who was critically injured with stab wounds, but is expected to survive.

Five other people were in the home and were not injured. They are being interviewed by investigators.

Police used a K-9 unit to look for the suspect, but it is believed he fled the area before police arrived. Investigators said the suspect is a man but have no further description.

Officers are going door-to-door to check if any neighbors have security cameras.

As of Friday at noon, investigators said they were waiting for a search warrant so they can look for evidence inside the home.

Shortly before 1 p.m., Kirkland police said they had arrested a suspect outside a Kirkland home. Investigators are not releasing the relationship between the suspect and the victim, other than the two knew one another.
