A man has died after an officer-involved shooting in Lakewood Tuesday afternoon.

Police received calls about a suspicious man running with a hooded jacket in the lumberyard parking lot in the 3600 block of 108h St. SW.

Officers found the man hiding 25 feet up in a lumber rack. Police said they contacted the man and radioed to dispatch that he was reaching into his pocket. Shortly thereafter, officers radioed again that shots were fired.

Medics took the man to a hospital in critical condition, but he later died.

Lakewood police said the two officers who fired shots are 10-year veterans of the department. KING 5 reports they were not injured in the incident.
