A man in his 60’s was found unresponsive and trapped under the tire of a van he was working on in North Seattle Friday.

“We don’t know how long he was underneath the van,” said Kyle Moore, spokesperson with the Seattle Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to the scene in the 14300 block of Stone Ave N. to find the man still trapped under the van. He was unconscious and unresponsive. They used industrial airbags to lift the vehicle off of him and then started CPR.

Moore said they got a pulse and then transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

It’s believed the van rolled back onto the man.
