Man hit by light rail train in South Seattle

A man is at Harborview with life threatening injuries after being hit by a light rail train in South Seattle over the weekend.

Witnesses report it appears the man was trying to cross Martin Luther King Jr. Way when he was struck.

The train hit the man as it was leaving the Columbia City Station. The man was trapped under the train for a time. Seattle Fire crews were able to remove the man from under the train.

The man was transported to Harborview with life-threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
