A Shoreline man suspected of shooting his wife in the leg was in a brief standoff with Seattle police Thursday morning.

The King County Sheriff’s Office says they believe he left his home armed, and made suicidal comments as he took off.

An hour later, Seattle police spotted the suspect in Georgetown.

After a short pursuit with police, the suspect barricaded himself in the back of his car on East Marginal Way. He surrendered before the SWAT team and negotiators arrived.

The suspect’s wife has non-life threatening injuries.
