March in Lake Stevens for Molly Conley

While she wasn’t from Lake Stevens, the community is holding a special memorial for a 15-year-old girl shot and killed there two weeks ago.

The March for Molly Conley was organized to “acknowledge this beautiful girl’s accomplishments and a life that was ended too soon in our town,” according to the Facebook page.

Police say Conley was walking with friends along a South Lake Stevens Road June 1 around 11:30 pm. The Bishop Blanchet High School student was celebrating her birthday with friends that night. Police say Conley died at the scene after she was shot in the neck.

Police still have not identified a suspect in the drive-by shooting. Reward funds have grown with the help of Crime Stoppers.

The march, on Monday June 17, begins at 6 p.m. at 13205 20th St. NE, Centennial Trail Hartford lot in Lake Stevens.

The march is not a fundraising effort, but a show of support from the community. “Just put on your tennis shoes and meet on the trail to walk one mile down and one mile back, rain or shine,” says the Facebook page.
