Marysville stench still debated despite expensive study

Following years of public complaints, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to determine once and for all whether the Cedar Grove composting facility in Marysville was the cause of the revolting stench in the area.

But the study hasn’t settled anything.

It still couldn’t pinpoint the source of the smell. The Everett Herald reports the study found odors coming from the composting facility and two nearby sewage treatment plants.

It couldn’t determine which was the most responsible.

Cedar Grove continues to face lawsuits and odor violations from the state.
