A new indoor COVID-19 vaccination clinic opens at the Everett Mall on Tuesday.

The vaccination clinic is operated by the Washington State Department of Health, the state Emergency Management Division, and the Snohomish Health District. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

For the next few weeks, the Everett site will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Appointments are required, and can be scheduled online here.

The county is also working to set up a mass testing site in the near future with help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. More information will be announced when details are finalized.

“These resources couldn’t be coming to Snohomish County at a better time, and we are most appreciative of the partnerships that have helped make them happen,” said Dr. Chris Spitters, health officer for the Snohomish Health District, in a written statement. “This added capacity for testing and vaccines will help those searching for appointments, as well as helping to relieve some of the pressure on the broader healthcare system.”

As of Tuesday, numbers indicate that cases of the omicron variant of COVID-19 may be peaking in Snohomish County, but hospitalizations are expected to increase for at least two more weeks.

Dr. Spitters said in a briefing Tuesday that there are now 222 beds in Snohomish County hospitals that are filled with COVID patients, which is almost double the prior peak.

“As of this morning, there is only one intensive care unit bed and 26 regular care beds available in Snohomish County hospitals, so occupancy is virtually 100%,” he said.
