Measles exposure reported at Battle Ground school

Clark County Public Health is investigating two cases of measles in unvaccinated children. The cases were reported on Sept. 23.
People who were at a Battle Ground school may have been exposed. According to the health department, a person who tested positive visited River HomeLink on SW Eaton Boulevard on Sept. 17. They were there from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Clark County Public Health is working with Battle Ground Public Schools to identify students and staff who are not protected against measles. Those individuals will be excluded from school, child care, and other settings for 21 days.
Anyone who was at the school and has not been vaccinated against measles or has not had measles in the past is at risk for getting sick. The health department recommends staying home and out of public places for three weeks. During that time, anyone who believes they have symptoms of measles should call their health care provider before visiting the medical office to make a plan that avoids exposing others.
