Measles exposure warning issued for travelers at SEA Airport

Seattle and King County are warning travelers about possible measles exposure after an infected out-of-state adult passed through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Nov. 11 and Nov. 17. The person’s vaccination status is currently unknown.
Officials urged anyone who was at the airport on those dates to check the exposure details posted on the county’s measles webpage.
This is the fifth measles case this year involving a traveler passing through King County. Another 12 cases have been reported among Washington residents in 2025.
Measles can spread before symptoms appear, and the virus can remain airborne for up to two hours after an infected person leaves an area.

- Watch for fever or an unexplained rash.
- Call a healthcare provider immediately if symptoms develop, and limit contact with others.

- Exposed on Nov. 11: Symptoms could appear Nov. 18–Dec. 2.
- Exposed on Nov. 17: Symptoms could appear Nov. 24–Dec. 8.
