A Seattle resident is filing a claim after she was allegedly sideswiped by a Metro bus in Seattle last month.

The victim was holding her phone while stepping onto the crosswalk at Yale Avenue and Stewart Street Feb. 13 when a King County Metro bus ran the red light and hit her. She suffered from a swollen right ankle, soreness in her left shoulder, and a cut on her finger. A video of the incident, which shows the bus running two red lights, can be seen on KIRO 7.

The woman is currently being represented by Davis Law Group.

“Metro’s Bus Operations and Safety Divisions along with King County’s Risk Management Team were notified of the incident and the pedestrian involved has filed a claim via their attorney,” King County Metro told KIRO 7. “Since a claim has been filed, there is no further information Metro can provide at this time.”
