Microsoft laid off 305 jobs in Redmond, Washington on Monday, according to a filing with the Washington State Employment Security Department (WSESD).

The filing labeled the layoffs as permanent, effective Aug. 1.

Microsoft has laid off approximately 2,300 employees in recent weeks, according to WSESD.

On May 15, Microsoft announced layoffs at its Redmond location, affecting 1,985 positions, scheduled to take effect on July 12.

The report comes on the heels of a May 13 announcement that Microsoft will begin laying off roughly 6,000 workers, nearly 3% of its workforce, according to The Associated Press.
