Multiple Microsoft services worldwide were hit with outages in its Azure cloud and Office 365 services, hours before the company’s quarterly earnings call was scheduled to be released.

However, the Azure outage was resolved just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, with Microsoft stating “there are currently no active events.”

Several Microsoft services affected by outages

Several Microsoft services were affected by outages, including Microsoft 365, Copilot, Outlook, Azure, Teams, Microsoft Store, Xbox Network, and Minecraft, according to Downdetector.

“We are working to address an issue affecting Azure Front Door that is impacting the availability of some services,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in an emailed statement, according to CNBC. “Customers should continue to check their Service Health Alerts, and the latest update on this issue can be found on the Azure status page.”

At 9:10 a.m., Microsoft Azure’s reported outages on Downdetector peaked at 20,130 active cases, with an additional 11,306 outages reported for Microsoft 365 at 9:11 a.m.

Numerous outages reported across tech services

Other notable outages were running concurrently to Microsoft’s outages, like Amazon, Google, Alaska Airlines, Costco, and Xfinity.

Alaska Airlines announced that several Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines services were impacted by the outage, which is disrupting key systems and websites.

Microsoft’s outages originated at approximately 8:40 a.m. as several users reported complications with using services and products provided by the company.

The Azure Support team posted an update on social media, noting that the outages were under investigation by the department.

“We’re investigating an issue impacting several Azure services,” Azure Support stated. “Customers may experience issues when accessing services.”

Microsoft’s 365 Status social media page also provided an update on the investigative efforts to resolve its outage.

“We’re investigating reports of issues accessing Microsoft 365 services and the Microsoft 365 admin center,” Microsoft 365 stated. “More details can be found in the Service Health Dashboard under MO1181369.”
