Missing Snohomish teens found safe in Tacoma

Feb 8, 2015, 9:04 AM | Updated: 6:50 pm

The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says two 16-year-old girls reported missing from Snohomish have been found safe in Tacoma.

Lt. Rodney Rochon said in a statement on Sunday that the girls were found together by Tacoma Police and had been taken to a safe location.

No arrests have been made. Rochon provided few details about how they were found or where they had been.

On Thursday, the sheriff’s office had asked the public for help in locating the teens. The girls had voluntarily left their homes on Jan. 28.

A sheriff’s spokeswoman said in a statement at the time that investigators believe that the girls may be frequenting hotels in the Puget Sound region and fear they may be victims of sex trafficking.
