Collision on Mt. Baker Highway leaves one dead, one seriously injured

A crash on the Mt. Baker Highway killed one person and injured another Saturday morning, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) confirmed.

WSP troopers reported the two-vehicle crash took place approximately four miles north of the town of Deming on SR 542.

The collision fully blocked the highway in both directions at milepost 19. Police are working to fully investigate the cause of the accident.

Traffic on SR 542 was blocked in both directions.
