Mudslide closes SR-97 in Chelan County

State Route 97 was closed Monday near milepost 220 as WSDOT crews worked to clear mudslide debris.
Around 4:40 p.m., Trooper John Bryant Tweeted a picture of the mudslide and said a dump truck and U-Haul were stuck.
Bryant said the mudslide “quickly moved in and caught a lot of folks off guard.” It was at least “a couple feet deep,” and covers 30 to 40 yards in the most affected areas. Railroad tracks off the roadway were also buried.
