A murder investigation is underway in West Lake Stevens following the discovery of a young woman’s body early Monday.
“This morning at about 9:06 a.m., 911 received a report of a female who was in her 20s who appeared to be deceased in a single-family dwelling,” says Jeff Brand, with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Brand says the body was found in a home in the 9200 block of 15th St. E.
“It appears she may have died of homicidal violence,” says Brand. “The house has been locked down. We have applied for and are waiting for a search warrant, at which time once we have that search warrant, we’ll go inside and continue our investigation.”
Lake Stevens was also the site of the recent killing of Bishop Blanchet student Molly Conley, but Brand says detectives do not believe the cases are related.
“Many people know about the tragic Molly Conley shooting and death here recently. We feel very confident in saying these two are not connected.”
