NB I-5 just north of SR 520 fully blocked after concrete truck rolls over

Jul 15, 2022, 9:09 AM | Updated: 2:18 pm

All lanes of northbound Interstate 5 just north of State Route 520 are closed Friday morning after a concrete truck rolled over, spilling several yards of cement into the interstate.

Only the concrete truck was involved in the accident, and there were no injuries involved, a spokesperson with Washington State Patrol (WSP) told MyNorthwest.

WSP anticipates a “lengthy recovery” process as the spilled cement presents a unique obstacle to clear from I-5. A tow truck to remove the rolled-over vehicle is en route as of 8:50 a.m. but has not yet arrived.

While all lanes of that section of northbound I-5 are closed, limited traffic is passing on the shoulder. The Washington State Department of Transportation recommends using alternative routes.
