Oracle, the tech giant known for its database software and cloud infrastructure, is laying off 359 employees in Seattle.

Employees who work remotely in Washington and at Oracle facilities in Seattle will be impacted, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

Affected locations include Russell Investments Center, 1301 2nd Ave., and 2025 5th Ave. The layoffs are “due to a reduction in force and other terminations,” Oracle stated.

The company, headquartered in Austin, Texas, noted the Seattle sites are not closing and no bumping rights exist.

“These layoffs are not the result of, nor is it expected to result in, the relocation or contracting out of Oracle’s operations or the affected employees’ positions,” the notification stated.

A range of positions are being let go, from software developers to program managers to software engineers to user experience design directors.

Oracle cut nearly 500 Washington jobs in April

All employees were individually notified earlier this week.

The layoffs are anticipated to be permanent and will go into effect on Nov. 13.

In April, Oracle announced it was laying off nearly 500 employees in Washington. The reasoning for those layoffs was also “reduction in force and other terminations.”
