ORCA cards expanding availability in Kitsap County

Starting this week, you can access ORCA cards at more stores in Kitsap County.
Albertsons, Fred Meyer, and Safeway will now allow riders to purchase a new ORCA card or reload their existing one within the county, making it easier for riders to have better access. Additionally, the QFC in Belfair will offer the same services.
To offer more awareness about the opportunity, the ORCA team is scheduling several in-store Q-&-A sessions for riders who have questions about the recent changes. Check out their website for more details.

One of the more popular questions is: Do I need a new ORCA Card? For some, it will depend. It’s being reported that the Blue and the Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) ORCA cards will still work. However, the one caveat is, if you reload your card at Safeway or Albertsons, you will need to buy a new card. You can grab more information here.
Please be aware, according to ORCA, those who use the Senior or Disabled RRFP card are eligible for a free replacement.
Keep in mind if you order your ORCA card online, it can take up to three weeks to receive it.
