A pickup truck driver was arrested for DUI after rear-ending a semi-truck while on State Route 99 (SR 99) early Friday morning.

The driver was speeding when the crash occurred, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). In addition to being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the driver broke his leg in the crash.

“The pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended the semi traveling at freeway speeds,” WSP Trooper Rick Johnson stated on X. “The driver of the pickup is under arrest for DUI and has a broken leg. Expect delays in the area for tows.”
