Police in Monroe, Wash., say dozens of pills (photographed above) were found at the scene of a homicide. They have asked for the public's help to determine who the pills may belong to.

Police in Monroe, Wash., believe dozens of pills found at a crime scene could lead them to a killer.

The pills were scattered in the grass next to the body of Jacqueline Rothenbuhler, who was stabbed to death outside her Monroe home on March 18.

Police do not believe the pills belonged to the victim.

“We did not locate a container which could have housed all of these pills,” said Deputy Chief Ken Ginnard. “We do not believe she had them in her hands at the time (of her death).”

Ginnard said there were too many pills for Rothenbuhler to have carried them outside.

Four different types of pills were found at the scene. Detectives have identified them as the following:

Loperamide Hydrochloride 2mg: Used in treatment of diarrhea. Also used in detox centers.

Fluoxetine Hydrochloride 10mg: A generic form of Prozac, used in the treatment of depression, anxiety and stress.

Amantadine hydrochloride 100mg: Used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Also used to treat the flu and to aid in cocaine withdrawals.

Unknown red gel capsule: Could be generic cold medicine or fish oil.

Detectives believe the pills may belong to someone who was going through detox.

If you have any information about the murder of Jacqueline Rothenbuhler, you are asked to call the Monroe Police Department and Detective Barry Hatch at 360-863-4570.
