Police have inspected Cheryl DeBoer's car and have found additional evidence, days after the missing woman's body was discovered.

Mountlake Terrace police found blood stains inside Cheryl DeBoer’s car and are currently analyzing evidence from the vehicle.

“The officers found blood on the passenger side of the car, inside the driver’s compartment,” said Commander Kevin Pickard with the Mountlake Terrace Police Department. “That led to (police) filing for a search warrant to retrieve further evidence and examine the inside, and exterior of the vehicle.”

DeBoer’s body was discovered on Feb. 14 in a Mountlake Terrace culvert, nearly a week after the 53-year-old disappeared. Her car was discovered on Feb. 8, the day it is believed she went missing.

Pickard would not confirm how much blood was discovered inside the vehicle.

The Everett Herald also reports that police found blood stains on the passenger seat of DeBoer’s Subaru. Police also found what they believe are blood stains on an inside part of the passenger door. Information about the blood stains was included in a search warrant police submitted Feb. 10 to obtain DeBoer’s cellphone records.

Pickard said that the blood was a considerable factor in why police have labeled DeBoer’s disappearance as “suspicious.”

The Washington State Crime Lab has already gone through DeBoer’s car and has collected evidence that is now being analyzed.
