A man shot and killed early Sunday morning near Seattle Center had a promising career ahead of him, friends say.
“I didn’t believe it was true at first. I was like, there was no way he would be in position to be shot like that. I feel like someone just got jealous of his recent success and handled it how they handled it. I don’t really know the whole story behind it, but it shouldn’t have happened like this,” Kendall Dillingham told KIRO 7.
The 21-year-old victim was identified as Trevon McKoy.
Police say McKoy was walking north on Warren Avenue in Queen Anne when he was shot. The area is busy at that time of night on the weekend, so there were are likely many witnesses. However, police do not have a description of the suspect.
Residents in a nearby apartment building attempted to revive McKoy.
One witness told KIRO 7 that McKoy was known as the rapper “JuiceTheGod.” The witness says McKoy had performed at the party he attended just before he was shot.
