Police searching for felon in Auburn area

May 18, 2012, 6:23 AM | Updated: 8:58 am

Police are searching for a man authorities say may be
violent in the Auburn area.

Police have been searching for the man, a multi-time felon,
since Thursday night when they went to a home on South 288th Street to
arrest him.

A SWAT team waited outside the man’s home all night trying
to serve a warrant for his arrest. When police got into the
house around 5:30 a.m. Friday, the man wasn’t there.

Early Friday morning there were reports that he might be on
or near a school campus in Auburn.

Thomas Jefferson High School was put on lockdown as students
arrived Friday morning. Students were held outside the
school upon arrival, and then escorted in as a group by
school staff.

The lockdown was lifted around 8 a.m. Friday.

Police continue to search the area for the 27-year-old
felon.
