Confirmed: Tornado touches down in Monroe

Update: What was being called a “weak rotation” near Monroe was confirmed to be a EF-0 tornado Thursday afternoon.
KIRO 7 Meteorologist Morgan Palmer reports EF-0 winds are typically 85 mph or less.

The National Weather Service says damage was “very isolated” and it is not expecting and widespread impacts from the weather event.

Palmer says there was a “burst of wind” around 10:30 a.m.
