6,000 people lost power Monday morning in Seattle

More than 6,000 customers lost power in Seattle Monday morning, with the outage stretching across Beacon Hill and the Chinatown-International District.

According to Seattle City Light, the outage began just before 7 a.m. The cause is still under investigation.

By 9:20 a.m., the number of customers affected by the power outage was updated to 2,272. Seattle City Light expects power to be restored between 9:30 and 10 a.m.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), the 12th Avenue S. Bridge is fully closed due to a live wire down.
