Power restored: More than 6,500 people were without power in South Seattle

More than 6,500 Seattle City Light customers were in the dark Friday morning as a power outage hit South Seattle.

Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley were the two Seattle neighborhoods most affected by the power outage.

The outage happened just before 6 a.m. You can track the outage on Seattle City Light’s map. Information is updated on the map every five minutes.

Nearly 500 customers near the Boulevard Park neighborhood remain without power as of this reporting.

Crews were on the scene investigating the cause of the outage.

Full restoration is expected to happen at approximately 12 p.m., according to Seattle City Light.
