Reardon aide files complaint in Snohomish County, seeks ‘whistleblower’ status

Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon may be resigning, but the discord among county leaders isn’t dying down.

New accusations have emerged from Executive Reardon’s legislative analyst, Kevin Hulten. The Everett Herald reports Hulten is asking for whistleblower protection status and alleging government misconduct against the Snohomish County prosecutor’s office.

Hulten is one of the employees accused of harassing Reardon’s political rivals. The Snohomish County Council is now seeking outside advice on both the accusations against Hulten and those against the county attorney’s office.

King County prosecutors have agreed to advise all parties involved as they try to move forward.
