Marriott will end its operation of a Redmond hotel in early 2027, resulting in 91 employee layoffs following the termination of its management agreement.

The 262-room hotel, located at 7401 164th Avenue NE, is expected to remain open under a different operator and employer, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

The layoffs are expected to be permanent and take effect between Jan. 5 and Jan. 19, 2027. However, Marriott anticipates all layoffs will occur at the close of business on Jan. 5.

According to the filing, Marriott was informed that the new operator intends to offer employment to a “significant” number of affected employees on terms comparable to their Marriott employment.

Marriott said meetings with hotel employees would be scheduled in the coming weeks to share additional information about employment opportunities with the new operator.

Most of the affected positions are listed as “Guest Environment Experts” and “Guest Event Experts,” though the layoffs also include management roles.

Marriott has 104 properties in Washington and has managed and operated the Redmond hotel since 2004.
