A police report obtained by TMZ says NFL Hall of Fame defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy was hospitalized for swelling in his legs about two weeks before he died.

Kennedy was in the hospital for about five days.

According to the report, Kennedy, 48, said he’d been “feeling dizzy” the day before his death.

Kennedy, the report says, asked a friend to check on him when she got off work the next morning, according to the report — she found him dead.

The report doesn’t say why Kennedy was suffering from swollen legs. However, several of his former coaches and teammates said he had diabetes.

The longtime defensive tackle died unexpectedly May 23.
