Robbers force way into Burien home, assault man, rape woman

Nov 13, 2012, 6:28 AM | Updated: 6:35 am

The King County Sheriff’s office says two armed robbers assaulted a family in their home in Burien on Monday night.

The suspects reportedly jumped a man as he was arriving home about 9 p.m.

Sgt. John Hall, with the King County Sheriff’s office, says the victim heard some rustling in the bushes and then was confronted by two suspects armed with handguns.

The men forced their way into the man’s residence. They pistol whipped the man and sexually assaulted his girlfriend. The robbers ransacked the home and fled with some property.

An 18-month old was sleeping at the time and not hurt.
Hall says the couple does not know the attackers and the home may have been targeted at random.

“We’re still putting that part of this together, establishing the motive and whether it was premeditated.”

Hall says the suspects are described as two black males between the ages of 19 and 25. The men are believed to be between 5’7″ and 5’9″ with a slender build.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
