The New Yorker has published a second accusation against Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Deborah Ramirez is quoted as saying that while they were both Freshmen at Yale, she was invited to one of those circular co-ed drinking games. It led to Kavanaugh committing a lewd act that I will not describe, but which I’m sure has set some kind of Google search record by now.

RELATED: Georgetown prep school, or pirate school?

The New Yorker could not completely verify Ramirez’s story – due a complete lack of sober witnesses. But this raises the stakes. Because it would have happened a year after the now-famous house party described by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Which would mean Kavanaugh was an 18-year-old adult.

And that goes directly to a question he was asked under oath at his confirmation hearing: “Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?”

Kavanaugh replied “no.”

If it turns out he lied, he’s in trouble. But if his accusers have no solid proof either incident happened – and so far they do not – the women who stepped forward hoping to protect women’s rights will instead  have a Supreme Court justice who is not only a Conservative, but who considers himself to have been falsely accused of sexual assault in front of his family.

And he will be in a position to decide how the courts will handle such accusations for years to come.
