Apartment fire fills downtown Seattle with smoke

An apartment fire in Pike Place Market Historical District filled the streets with haze Thursday afternoon.
The Seattle Fire Department has responded to the apartment fire on 1st Avenue between Virginia Street and Stewart. The street has been closed to traffic in that area.
According to KIRO 7, the building that caught fire houses Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub in Post Alley. It’s unclear if the restaurant was damaged. A Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman told KIRO 7 that there were no injuries in the two-alarm fire, so far. The fire is under control, but the spokeswoman is still gathering confirmed information about the incident.
