Results are in for Primary Night 2019. Below is a rundown of Tuesday evening’s results for each Seattle City Council district.

The top two candidates with the most votes will advance to the ballot. Election Day is November 4.

District 1: Lisa Herbold (running, took office 2015)

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday night, District 1 voter turnout was 28.4 percent (19,343 ballots returned)

Jesse Green

Candidate: Lisa Herbold — 49 percent
Status: Declared
Background: Incumbent

Phillip Tavel

Candidate: Phillip Tavel — 34 percent
Status: Declared
Background: Lawyer

District 2: Bruce Harrell, Council President (not running, took office 2008)

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday night, District 2 voter turnout was 26.2 percent (15,345 ballots returned).

Tammy Morales

Candidate: Tammy Morales — 47 percent
Status: Declared
Background: Former staffer in Texas Legislature, ran against Harrell in 2015

Mark Solomon

Candidate: Mark Solomon — 24 percent
Status: Declared
Background: Crime Prevention Coordinator, Seattle Police Department

District 3: Kshama Sawant (running, took office 2014)

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday night, District 3 voter turnout was 31.8 percent (23,224 ballots returned).

Candidate: Kshama Sawant — 34 percent

Egan Orion

Candidate: Egan Orion — 23 percent

District 4: Abel Pacheco (interim council member, previously Rob Johnson’s seat)

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday night, District 4 voter turnout was 30.7 percent (18,627 ballots returned).

Candidate: Shaun Scott — 20 percent
Status: Announced candidacy in The Stranger
Background: Democratic Socialists of America organizer

Alex Pedersen

Candidate: Alex Pedersen — 44 percent
Status: Declared
Background: Tim Burgess’ former aide

District 5: Debora Juarez (running, took office 2016)

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday night, District 5 voter turnout was 28.5 percent (18,185 ballots returned).

John Lombard

Candidate: Debora Juarez — 43 percent

Ann Davison Sattler

Candidate: Ann Davison Sattler — 28 percent
Status: Declared
Background: Former caseworker in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.

District 6: Mike O’Brien (not running, took office 2010)

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday night, District 6 voter turnout was 31.7 percent (23,504 ballots returned).

Councilmembers Teresa Mosqueda and Lorena Gonzalez (at-large representatives) are not up for re-election in 2019.
