Young girl dies on flight headed from Los Angeles to Seattle

A tragedy in the skies occurred as a young girl on a Delta flight from LAX headed to Seattle died in-flight shortly after takeoff.

The child was ten years-old, and early reports indicate officials believe she passed away from a heart attack, reports the Los Angeles Times.

That flight was diverted back to Los Angeles, where paramedics at the gate worked to try to save her life.

“Sadly, all efforts were futile and the child was beyond medical help,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
